2012 was awesome. My band and I covered miles in creating moments as we performed all over the metropolis and we thank you for being with us. First there was “The Exhibition, Accessorized Music” in Feb. A huge success that saw a lot of upcoming designers and jewelery makers showcase their products fused with awesome music from Jarel Urban Artist and Christine Kamau maestro Jazz artist. Then there was “The Exhibition,Clicks Strokes Sounds” In May where we saw some of the best ever photography galleries, paintings and pencil sketches fused with music from Lele Ngoma, Dempsey and Andrew Wambua and Afrology. Also, our series of concerts at Sauti Academy (An artist development program by Penya Africa that I (Andrew) am part of. Later we crowned the year at Thursday Night Live at Choices. Many Thanks to Anyiko Owoko, Natalie Lukkenaer, Rashid, Mercy Mwongeli, Chris Mwenda, Lucas Scott Aol, Shiro, Rahab Nderu and the team at Michael Joseph Centre, Wamathai, Vickie zosi, Jemedari and any other person I haven’t mentioned but was a pillar of strength in our Journey in 2012.

The Exhibition, an idea initially conceptualized by Victoria Zosi, Joseph Wambua (Jemedari) and myself is a show designed to help the young or the not so young but upcoming artsy guy or girl who needs the proverbial ray of light as far as reaping from their talent is concerned. And at this juncture it’s safe to state that talent in this country is in abundance but too often do we see the same old people being given chances and no new blood. Thus lay the bedrock on which The Exhibition was conceptualized. To bring a breath of fresh air to the arts industry.
The first edition of The Exhibition 2012 dubbed “Accessorized Music” brings you a unique blend of fashion and afro-jazz and afro-soul music slated for the 25th of February at The MICHAEL JOSEPH CENTER Safaricom Headquarters, Waiyaki way. Charges are 300. Lots of refreshments will be provided.
